Photo Challenge - april

This month, over at That Wife's Blog we are being challenged just to post our favorite photo of the month.  This month, being Easter, along with all of the spiritual meaning I feel for the holiday, we also had a chance to celebrate with an Easter egg hunt for the little kids (my cousins and niecephews).  I snapped this picture just as my nephew, Pierce, was about to have a meltdown because "all the other kids have more eggs than him." I love this picture, not because he is upset, but because of how well it managed to capture his emotion, and the fact that it reminds me that kids aren't all smiles all the time. Plus, he's a cutie, even when he isn't smiling!

Moments of Note from an Incredible trip to Brookings, Oregon

  1. Adam barking at the wind on I-5. A picture says a thousand words.

  1. 2. Leila rocking out to Evan Burchfield's lovely rendition of the 'Banana Chaquita' song. A recording of this can be found at:

  2. Zach's Blog

3. The guys seem kind of obsessed with the well-endowed wooden indian woman. Should I be worried?

By the way, this was taken outside the stupidest museum I've ever seen. It was basically filled with a bunch of JUNK that should have seen a trash can a long, long time ago. The outside of the museum was pretty cool though. The entire museum is inside of this really old beached boat. That part is pretty nifty--the rest is um, not.

4. This is one of my favorite pictures that I took of the beach.

Okay, well I have tons more pictures, but blogger is being dumb and it's not liking me so that's about all I can handle for now. Maybe I'll post more of them on Bebo. At the moment, though, I don't really feel like dealing with that either.

5 Good things about this week:

  1. I got a new shirt that is M-azing! Wearing it right now! woot woot!
  2. My Philosophy midterm got moved to next week. Tests getting postponed is always a good thing.
  3. I got a 120/100 on my lab 3 that I did for my Computer Science class...that's right, extra credit baby!
  4. I got to level 7 on New Super Mario DS. I know, I know, you can say it, I'm a geek.
  5. My printer at work is getting fixed. Now if you know anything about my printer at work, it would be a really good thing to just get the stupid thing replaced all together, but unfortunately that's not my decision. I'm just glad that it's getting new parts, because if it's working any better than it is now, it will at least lessen my stress....

Okay, that's a rather lengthy one. Thanks for sticking with me if you read all the way through it!

Here's a little something to crack you up for the day! I had my eyes closed so I had no idea what he was doing while I snapped the picture...

Here's a little something to brighten your day:

In other news, last night, Zach and I had somewhat of a 'Game Night'. We played 3 games of Yahtzee, 2 games of Sorry, and 1 game of Disney Trivial Pursuit. It was a blast!

Which led me to wonder, what is everyone's favorite board games?

Wondering about my new headline??

Okay, let's start by saying that my old headline was just supposed to be up until I came up with something witty. Now, a year and a half later, I finally came up with something that I think may suit me a bit better.

I am by no means trying to say that I am a professional photographer, nor am I planning to be in the future--I don't think...... But, I do LOVE taking pictures, and I tend to see the world from behind my camera, even when I don't have it with me.

Today, (well since its almost 1 am now, yesterday), I was looking at the beautiful architecture of downtown Medford as I was walking back to my car after class and wishing that I had my camera to capture it on film...well, nowadays it isn't film, it's a storage card that you upload onto your computer, but you get the idea.....

Everywhere I go....I'm always thinking about how I could capture the moment in still-life....

Whelp, not sure you all cared to know that much. But there it is. Cheerio!

Guess what I was just drooling over.......

Yeah, if only I had the money to buy it...the lowest price I could find for the beautiful Canon Rebel XT was a little over $600! *sadness* I'm thinking about saving up though....I would absolutely LOVE an EIGHT megapixel camera... *drooling*

I want one...pick me! pick me!

So, on Wednesday, Zach took me to Crater Lake for our anniversary. He surprised me. He told me we were doing something for our anniversary on Wednesday, and to keep the day open because it would take all day. So despite my trying to get it out of him, he was a 'vault' and wouldn't tell me til he showed up to pick me up Wednesday morning. He printed out directions, and finally showed me....I was sooo excited! And, I was also really excited to have my camera back.

I took about 50 pictures that day, including one of the sign on Crater Lake Highway:

On the way up there (It's about an hour and 45 minute drive) we saw this amazing river, with tons of little waterfalls. And we were able to stop and get out and take pictures on the way back.

And here's one more of us actually at our desired destination:
Isn't it beautiful? I printed out a couple pictures to show my coworkers, and one of them thought that this picture was a postcard:

Ain't she the cutest thing?
Today my niece had her first kindersoccer game. And I, the proud auntie that I am took 60 pictures, give or take.

So, I know this is probably really pathetic to all of you, but I just thought I'd share my new favorite pair of shoes with you. (Especially since according to Zach, girls just have to talk about them. )
Anyway, on Friday, I bought another pair of awesome converses. Brown ones. And they rock. Yeah, thats about all I have to say.

Oh and my neice is totally awesome and laced them for me!
